Teaching Heart CDROM, Packets, and Products Frequently Asked Questions!!!

How long does it take for a CD to arrive once it is ordered through Paypal?

It takes 1-3 days to ship (unless a wait is stated on the site).  From the time of shipment, allow 1-3 weeks for it to arrive. If you do not have your CD order three weeks after the order is placed, contact Teaching Heart.

Can I pay using a school purchase order?

Yes, you need to have the school fill out the order form and supply the purchase order.  They should send the purchase order via US mail.  All purchase orders require a $7.00 processing fee to be added to your total order.  Click here to print the order form.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final because of the format of the CDROMs.  If you have problems with the CDROM we are happy to send you another CDROM.  If the CD is lost in the mail we will also send out another CDROM.  We do not offer a refund once the CD is shipped because the files could be viewed and copied.  Check out the index of the CD’s before you order them.

What program do I need to run the CDROM’s?

The only program you need is Microsoft Word.  If you can open the free samples on your computer and view them properly, then you will be able to open the files on the CDROM.   The files were created on a PC, we do have MAC customers that use the CDROMs successfully.  If you are a MAC user, make sure our sample files open on your computer before you order the CDROM.

What are packets?

The packets are a selection of files on one topic.  If you order a packet it is sent to you via email in a zip format.  Once you unzip the files they will run on Word.

Why do I need to email you if I do not get my packet 24 hours after I order?

There are many reasons you need to send an email if you do not get your packet in 24 hours.  Two of the most common reasons:  The email address you entered in Paypal could be incorrect and we have no way to send you the packet.  The email you gave may be protected by a firewall and the files may not be going through. Sometimes the packets are seen as Bulk or Spam by your email provider and are deleted.

If you do not get the file and contact Teaching Heart, the file will be resent or Teaching Heart will ask you to log onto www.yahoo.com and sign up for a free email account. This only takes five minutes. After you sign up, email Teaching Heart your new yahoo email address. The files will then be sent to your new address. You will surely get them this way!

 How do I unzip?

These files (.zip) are compressed PC files which make downloading large files a much quicker job. But to utilize these files, you'll need to unzip them first. Here's how to do that:

You must have WinZip to open them. Winzip should automatically appear. If it doesn’t then you probably don’t have it installed and must install it.  WinZip offers a free program on their website http://www.winzip.com/downwzeval.htm   that you can download and use to unzip files that you receive off of the internet, and you must have this in order to extract the files from your Teaching Heart Packet.

Ensure your unzipping software is installed

Now whenever you have a file that you need to unzip, just right click on that file and select "Extract To" or "Extract To Folder" (for Winzip) Your unzipping program will now unzip the file contents to the location you specified.

You can either trash the zip file or save it to another location on your computer if you'd like to keep a copy 'just in case'.

Now open your newly unzipped folder and you'll find everything unzipped.

Are the packet files found on your CDROMs?

No the packets are different files than the ones found on our first four CDROMs.  Click on the index of each packet to view what is inside.  We have now put first eight packets on 2 CDROMs.  There are four packets on each of the two CDROMs.  Ordering the packets on CDROM means that you will receive them via USmail. At this time, the only packets you cannot find on CDROM are the Snowman Gingerbread Friends and the Thanksgiving packet.

What are the advantages of ordering an individual packet vs. ordering one of the packet CDROMs?

If you order a packet to be sent via email, it is sent in 24 hours or less and you can begin using it right away.  You also have the option of choosing what packet you want.  If you order a packet CDROM, it can take 1 -3 weeks for delivery.  If you need it for your students today, order the packet via email.

What are the advantages of ordering a packet CDROM vs. ordering an individual packet?

You save money if you plan to order all the packets in the future.  Also, some people prefer to have the files on CDROM, where they don’t have to unzip the files or worry about coping the files to a disk.

Where should email questions be sent after I have ordered?
