1.) Snowman Venn Diagram – (Grades 1-3) – Includes four colorful snowman for you to print and laminate for each group in your class. Students use the snowman to complete the Venn Diagram Sheet (Included). This activity should be done as a review of the Venn Diagram. The teacher may choose to do the activity whole class in grades 1-2 or as a group activity is grades 2-3. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
2.) Snowman Sound Match Take it To Your Seat Center – (Grades K-2) – All parts to make this center are included. Teacher must supply a baggie for each center made. Print, laminate, and cut as many sets (A-Z Snowmen) as needed. You will need to cut each head and the two matching snowballs. Store each set (A-Z) in a Ziploc bag. The student may take the center to his seat. Students must make a snowman by matching a small snowball and a large snowball to the snowman head. To make a match they need to find a picture that begins with the sound on the hat of the snowman. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
3.)Snowman Measurement Activity
– (Grades 1-3) – Teacher must supply mini marshmallows,
raisins, & large marshmallows. A snowman graphic and
activity sheet are provided. The teacher should have the
students find the area and perimeter using each of the given
items. Each student will record their answers on the grid.
Students should begin to understand that it takes fewer larger
units than smaller units to cover an area or outline/perimeter of
a shape. After the table is filled in the teacher may have
the students answer the questions about the table independently
or they may answer the questions as a class. (This is not
found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
4.) The Cold Facts – (Grades k-2) – This is an independent activity sheet that reviews addition problems with sums to 18. The student must add and the use the color code key to determine which color to color the snowman’s hat. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
5.) Snowman Colors Mini Book (free to print)– (Grades k-1) – student writes a color word on each page and then colors the given part of the snowman to match the color word. When they are finished they have an emergent reader to share with another classmate or an adult at home. (This is found on CDROM # 2)
6.) Graphing for Winter – (Grades 1-2) – Student is given a variety of winter pictures to cutout. Then the student glues the pictures to the graph. Finally the student answers the questions about his or her graph. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
7.) It Must Be Winter Emergent Reader – (Grades k-2) – Student colors the book. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
8.) Snowman Making Words – (Grades 1-2) – Includes letters to cutout & four activities for making words. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
9.) Snowman Erase a Rhyme – (Grades k-2) – This is three sheets. The first sheet is teacher directions. The second sheet is an easy to draw graphic of a snowman. (The students may also keep this at their seats and cross out the parts as you work the lesson with the class.) The third sheet is an independent activity for your students to complete after the lesson.(This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
10.) Mitten Data – (Grades 2-3) – Student must use given manipulatives to collect data on a given graph. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
11.) Mitten Match Up – (Grades k-2) – Pocket center. Print, laminate, cut and place one mitten of each set in your chart. Place the other mitten in a Ziploc baggie. Student must take the mittens in the Ziploc baggie and match it. Involves simple addition. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
12.) Mitten Reading Center – (Grades 1 -2) – Materials to make a reading center. Student must read a sentence and then place correct mittens next to the sentence. Matching color words to colored mittens. (This is not found on any Teaching Heart CDROMS)
