We wanted to share the baby's new room and the bathroom. A friend of mine, Rene Gebhart painted the murals in both rooms. So if you are in the Pittsburgh area you can learn more about her work at www.renegebhart.com ! She is awesome and can do anything. Check out her portfolio on her website.

For the baby's room I had the idea of using characters from some of Zachary's favorite storybooks. I wanted the characters to blend in with Zachary's old bedding and furniture. I also wanted the characters to be in scenes together. Rene made it all work together.

The theme of the room is stated above the crib:
"The more that you read,
the more you will know,
The more you learn,
the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss

Classic Pooh in the corner holding balloons!

Above the changing table, The Little Engine that Could giving Clifford the Big Red Dog a ride!

Sitting on a park bench is Officer Buckle and Gloria. Standing above them on the bench is the mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie!

Corduroy petting the Pokey Little Puppy!
The Gingerbread Baby is running up the path!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is crawling towards the window.

The bunnies from Guess How Much I Love You are under the Pooh ABC's

A, B, & C, are crawling up The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree!

Once Rene does one room you start wanting her to do all your rooms... So, we had her do one more room... The kids bathroom. We wanted an underwater theme.

Zachary is fond of submarines... I wonder why? So, this is a picture of the USS Alabama under the sea!

Here is a Dolphin jumping over the shower rod!

Zachary loves the movie Fantasia and the music that goes along with it. In the Pines of Rome song you see a baby whale who wanders off from his Mom and Dad. Rene created the baby whale from Fantasia to swim around the bathroom.
